Received an ECHO Leader Award, presented by the Direct Marketing Association,New York, in its International ECHO competition, for Chief Industries’ Direct Mail Support Program.
1988
Presented Chief Industries’ dealer support program and dealer recruitment programs during the Joint National Conference sponsored by the American Marketing Association and the publishers of Sales & Marketing Management, in New Orleans.
Recognized with a feature article in Industry Leader, Dun & Bradstreet’s national newsletter, on the O’Brien Dealer Support Program.
1989
Certified as a Professional Direct Marketer (PDM) at UMKC’sDirectMarketingCenterin the Bloch School of Business.
Presented business-to-business portion of PDM certification training, annually from 1989 until 1997, and explained Beechcraft’s (Raytheon Aviation) dealer support strategy, including database development, and tactical direct mail execution. Martin Baier, founder of the PDM program and author of Elements of Direct Marketing (McGraw-Hill) considered the program as “state-of-the-art in database business-to-business direct mail.”
Received two AMBIT Gold Awards, presented by the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association for Chief Industries’ Builder Support Programs:
- Direct Mail Program;
- Multi-Media Direct Response Advertising Program.
Received one AMBIT Silver Award, presented by the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association for O’Brien Dealer Support Program.
Received one AMBIT Bronze Award, presented by the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association for development of a lead-generation business-to-business program for The Western Group, the nation’s largest specialty contractor in commercial and institutional building restoration, and its 35 U.S. sales offices
1991

Received AMBIT “Best of Show” Award, presented by the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association, for Chief Industries’ Builder Recruitment Program.
Recognized with a feature article in What’s Working, a national newsletter published in Washington, DC that serves corporate marketing executives, on Beechcraft’s Dealer Support Program.
1993
Appeared as Direct Marketing Association of Washington, DC’s featured luncheon speaker at Washington, DC’s International Club, to present the dealer support program developed for Beechcraft Division of Raytheon.
1994
Presented the Beechcraft Dealer Support Program to the Strategic Research Institute attended by business-to-business seminar guests at The Helmsley Hotel, New York.
1999
Named Business Marketer of the Year by the Kansas City Chapter of Business Marketing Association and the publishers of Business Week.
2001
Received one Fountain Award, presented by the Kansas City BMA Business Marketing Association for Butler Manufacturing Company’s Roof Group “Leads-to-Profits” Program, a fully integrated dealer-support program.
Presented the dealer support program developed for Butler Manufacturing Company’s Roof Group as a case study at the Direct Marketing Association’s On Demand Forum, entitled One-to-One Marketing, Integrating Print and the Web, at Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York.
As a result of the St. Louis Direct Marketing Association judging KCDMA’s AMBIT entries, invited to present Butler’s “Leads-to-Profits” Program to members of the St. Louis Direct Marketing Association at their monthly luncheon.
2002
Recognized with a full-page article in the September issue of DIRECT, a national publication, entitled “Web-based program boosts response” aboutButler’s “Leads-to-Profits” program.
